This article presents the results of a survey conducted in 2011 by postgraduate students of HEC Paris, a leading business school, on the technical and psychological motivations affecting the choice of law in international contracts, and their legal and economic consequences, especially for the French legal professions. The study reveals this is fairly unchartered territory deserving further research.
