This article aims to examine the subject of stabilisation clauses in international investment law and, in particular, in international petroleum contracts. These contracts are good instance of long-term investment agreements entailing complex legal and financial issues. The present article attempts to underscore the significance of the commercial certainty and contractual stability in investment transactions and the role of stabilisation clauses in maintaining the equilibrium of the contract.
